"No justification for pushing countless families into the extreme indignity of poverty" - David Lammy MP

Ministers are planning a “hardship fund” for people impoverished by a no-deal Brexit. David Lammy MP says there's no justification for it.

Best for Britain supporter and Labour MP David Lammy said:

“It is unthinkable for a government to be planning a hardship fund for a policy they are actively pursuing. There is simply no justification for pushing countless families in my constituency and across the country into the extreme indignity of poverty.

"Brexit is an ideological project pushed by disaster capitalists and those who will be insulated from the economic hardship it will cause. Enough is enough. We must step back from the cliff edge and put this matter back in the hands of the people it will affect most so that they can decide their future.”
