Campaigners have repeated calls for beneficial regulatory alignment between the UK and the EU following the Chancellor's speech to Labour Party Conference today.
The Chancellor used her speech to unerline that the difficult decisions will need to be made to grow the UK economy but campaigners argue that removing the artificial barriers to growth introduced by the Brexit deal is an important early step in helping UK businesses.
Naomi Smith, Chief Executive of Best for Britain said,
“The Chancellor is right, Britain needs growth and achieving it will require some tough choices, but an easy choice to give businesses a boost is removing costly red tape from the last government’s Brexit deal by aligning UK standards and protections with those of our biggest market.”
