After more than a decade of Conservative Government, the NHS is at breaking point.

In an emergency, people face an average wait of over 5 hours in A&E and more than an hour for an ambulance.

1 in 10 people are currently waiting for treatment including for serious conditions like cancer.

And this is not just because of the pandemic. In 2019, average waiting times in A&E reached more than 5 hours. People are dying waiting for treatment or waiting for ambulances.

After 12 years in power, this Conservative Government has failed to address the crisis. They have made it worse by undermining our economy, wasting public money and depriving the NHS of skilled workers. If the Conservatives remain in power, it could be too late to save our NHS after another five years.

Sandra can't wait. Something must change.

Our outdated voting system keeps the Tories in power with a minority of votes. If the share of seats matched the share of votes they received, the Conservatives would have only won 2 of the last 21 elections. Even Margaret Thatcher would have failed to secure a majority.

The Conservative Party knows that they can’t win under a better system. That’s why this year they rolled back fairer voting for local elections in England. A better voting system means Labour is likely to be in government more often and in a position to help people like Sandra.

A large majority of Labour members back a fairer voting system as does Britain’s largest trade union. However, the motion to make it Labour Party policy was defeated at this year's Labour Party Conference after the party leadership did not support the motion. We need you to tell Keir Starmer that you expect him to back a fairer voting system.
