Best for Britain commissioned a massive new MRP poll which has revealed that every constituency in Britain thinks the Government should prioritise trade with the EU over the USA and other countries.
The poll and analysis of almost 15,000 people undertaken by YouGov on behalf of Best for Britain shows that across England, Scotland and Wales, almost one in two people (46%) would say the EU should be the Government’s top priority when it comes to trade whereas less than half this number (22%) would opt for the US. 4% would think the Government’s focus should be China while 6% would favour another country.
We asked people to choose which country (or bloc of countries) they thought the UK should prioritise when improving trading relations.
Prioritising the UK's trading relations with the EU is the top choice in every constituency in Great Britain, and projected to be the choice of more than 50% of voters in 73 constituencies. Even the constituencies that returned Reform UK MPs at the 2024 general election would prefer improving the UK's trading relationship with the EU over any other option.

Labour voters and voters who previously voted Conservative but switched to Labour at the 2024 General Election prefer that the UK prioritise improving its trading relations with the EU at a higher proportion than the general population.
Constituency spotlights
In Huddersfield Labour held the seat in 2024 but lost vote share amid the collapse of the Conservative vote and surging shares for the Greens, who came second by 5,000 votes, and Reform UK. The MRP projects 42% of Huddersfield constituents would say the UK should look to the EU to prioritise its trading relationship compared to just 18% who would say it should be the USA.
In Runcorn and Helsby Labour won comfortably ahead of Reform UK in second place but since the election the winning Labour candidate, Mike Amesbury, is now sitting as an Independent MP having been suspended by the Party and he recently pleaded guilty to assaulting a constituent. Runcorn and Helsby's constituents would prefer prioritising the UK's relations with the EU by 44% compared to 20% for the USA.
Labour held Llanelli at the 2024 election, but lost vote share and faced a serious challenge from Reform UK which was placed just 1,500 votes behind Labour. Despite this Reform UK surge, 41% of constituents in Llanelli would say they think the UK should prioritise the EU compared to just 22% who would say the USA.
Stirling & Strathallan was a Labour gain from the SNP in 2024 by just 1,400 votes. More than half (52%) of constituents here would favour the European Union compared to just 17% who would say the UK should prioritise the USA.
Labour gained Stoke on Trent South from the Conservatives at the 2024 election by just 627 votes and with Reform UK surging into third place. Nevertheless, the top choice of constituents would be for the UK to prioritise its trading relationship with the EU by 37% rather than the USA at 24%.
Ribble Valley was another Labour gain from the Conservatives with another slim majority of just 856 votes and another third place for Reform UK. Again, constituents would say they want the UK to prioritise the EU by 43% compared to 23% for the USA.
Clacton, the seat of Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, provided the highest result (30%) for prioritising the UK's trading relations with the USA of any GB constituency. However, even in this constituency the top-placed result was the EU with 33%.
Boston and Skegness received the highest Reform UK vote share in the country at the 2024 election but again, constituents would still favour prioritising the UK's relationship with the EU by 37% compared to 24% for the USA.
