How much is Brexit really costing us? The Cost of Brexit

Renewed EU membership vital to create economic transformation for regional economies, independent research backs.

In his first major policy speech since launching his bid to become prime minister, Andy Burnhan has called for more English devolution and pledged to drive growth “across every nation and region of the UK.”

This comes as new independent research commissioned by Best for Britain and carried out by Frontier Economics found a GDP boost of at least £92bn could be added to the UK economy, equivalent to an increase of up to 3.6%, via UK’s re-entry to the European Union (EU).

Cal Roscow, Executive Director of Campaigns at Best for Britain, said:

“Burnham is right to highlight the 10 years of political turbulence since Brexit, and if growth in every postcode is to be the driving ambition of his No10, he must not leave the economic transformation on offer from the UK’s renewed EU membership off the table.

“This direction, which the majority of UK voters have repeatedly backed, creates the economic growth that begins to undo the last decade of damage by, as new independent research has shown, delivering at least £92bn to supercharge the UK and its regional economies.”
