US Supreme Court rules against Trump tariffs

The U.S. Supreme Court has today struck down President Trump's global tariffs.

Responding to the news that the US Supreme Court has ruled against Trump’s global tariffs, CEO of Best for Britain which acts as Secretariat to the cross-party UK Trade and Business Commission, Naomi Smith said:

“The US Supreme Court has exposed the carelessness ingrained in Trump’s signature trade policy, reinforcing that sweeping tariff powers require clear congressional backing rather than unilateral executive action.

“Exporters the world over could now be owed billions of dollars. For UK industry, this ruling underlines the instability of doing deals with Trump's USA and the importance of forging deeper more reliable trade with our EU neighbours.”
