“A VIP lane for has-beens”: Cameron returns to frontline politics

David Cameron appointed Foreign Secretary as James Cleverly confirmed as new Home Secretary.

The former Prime Minister has entered the House of Lords as a life peer in order to take on the role of Foreign Secretary.

A recent poll from Savanta shows that just a quarter (24%) of UK adults feel favourably towards David Cameron, while 45% feel unfavourably.

Naomi Smith, Chief Executive of Best for Britain said,

"One year after promising a fresh start, Sunak is operating another Tory VIP lane, only this time for unelected has-beens.

“Handing one of the Government’s most prestigious jobs to someone with a prolific record of foreign policy failure and lobbying scandal shows Sunak is not just out of ideas, he is out of support from among his own MPs. He should call an election now.”
