Call on Labour to back Proportional Representation
Everyone should feel safe in their neighbourhood and in their home but after more than a decade of Conservative Government, Britain has never felt more unsafe.
Since 2010, half of all police stations have closed and there are 8,000 fewer police officers
Last year only 1 in every 20 of violent crimes resulted in someone being charged and sexual offences reached a record high.
By undermining our economy and wasting public money, this Conservative Government has left us with less to invest in our police and crime prevention.
They have personally broken the law themselves. If the Conservatives remain in power, there could be many more victims of preventable crime and people living in fear.
Carole can’t wait. Something must change.
Our outdated voting system keeps the Tories in power with a minority of votes. If the share of seats matched the share of votes they received, the Conservatives would have only won 2 of the last 21 elections. Even Margaret Thatcher would have failed to secure a majority.
The Conservative Party knows that they can’t win under a better system. That’s why this year they rolled back fairer voting for local elections in England.
A better voting system means Labour is likely to be in government more often and in a position to help people like Carole. 80% of Labour members back a fairer voting system as does Britain’s largest trade union. We need you to tell Keir Starmer that you expect him to back a fairer voting system too.
End minority rule in Britain. Sign our petition calling on Keir Starmer to back Proportional Representation at this year’s Labour Party Conference.
The Petition: To Keir Starmer
The last twelve years of Conservative government have been catastrophic for our economy, our NHS and other vital public services.
While more and more people are being pushed into poverty and millions are struggling with a cost of living crisis, the Conservative Government has wasted an estimated £64billion of public money while awarding lucrative public contracts to Tory party insiders.

Right-wing parties worked together to win the last two elections. In 2019, with around 40% of the vote they got 56% of the seats.
