Ceri can't wait - Tell Opposition Leaders to work together

The UK is one of the richest countries in the world, but 1 in 5 people are now living in poverty in this country including almost a third of all children.

The number of people relying on foodbanks has increased from 40,000 in 2010 to over 2million today and in one out of every seven households, adults regularly skip meals. This year, energy and food prices have increased more in the UK than in any other G7 nation.

12 years of Conservative Government has drastically increased the number of people in poverty and the number of people going hungry. At a time when the cost of living is spiralling out of control, they have increased taxes on working people and pushed through tax cuts for bankers.

By mismanaging our economy and introducing new trade barriers, they have increased costs for struggling people even further. If the Conservatives remain in power, they will push more people into poverty.

Ceri can’t wait Something must change.

Our outdated voting system keeps the Tories in power with a minority of votes. If the share of seats matched the share of votes they received, the Conservatives would have only won 2 of the last 21 elections. Even Margaret Thatcher would have failed to secure a majority.

Right-wing parties worked together to win the last two elections with around 40% of the vote but getting 56% of the seats. Opposition parties must beat them at their own game. Consistently, Labour, the Liberal Democrats and Green Party together outpoll the parties of the right. Latest constituency-level polling shows that by cooperating in just 100 out of 650 seats, they can lock the Tories out of power and help people like Ceri.

End minority rule in Britain. Write to the leaders of the UK's oppostion parties and tell them to work together at the next General Election.
