The European Council has decided to offer the UK an extension to Article 50 until October 31st this year.
Best for Britain supporter and Labour MP David Lammy said:
"The need for a substantial extension to Article 50 in order to fix the Brexit mess this Government have created is one of the worst-kept secrets in Westminster. Now that we have an extension until the end of October, we must use it wisely.
"We need to find a way out of the Brexit gridlock that protects jobs, communities and our vital public services.
"Britain has changed its mind. Poll after poll shows the people of this country want to be given a vote on any form of Brexit before it goes ahead.
”The Government and Parliament must accept this shift in opinion and use an extension to break the impasse, by giving the people the final say on Brexit."
