The Government is attempting to push through the undemocratic elections bill. This bill, if passed, will centre power in the hands of the Government of the day, allowing for a slow but sure erosion of our democracy.
The Government claims that this bill will make UK elections more transparent. But we know that this is not the case. Instead, in the guise of transparency, the bill contains provisions to curtail campaigning, silence charities and small civil society organisations and compromise the independence of our elections regulator.
