Brexit talks to resume this week

UK and EU negotiators will resume trade talks later this week following a phone call between chief negotiators Michel Barnier and David Frost.

The initial phase of the negotiations will take place in London from 22 October until 25 October, announced by the UK Government here.

Thereafter the negotiations should take place in person in London and Brussels, or via teleconference, or a mix of the two.

Commenting on the resumption of talks, Best for Britain CEO Naomi Smith said:

“Resuming talks is an important step towards the government fulfilling its election promise to deliver a trade deal with the EU.

“With businesses already stretched to breaking point by COVID, leaving the Brexit transition period without a deal in place would be economically devastating.

“The clock is still ticking. Now that the two sides are back at the negotiating table, it’s time for the real work to begin to reach an agreement.”
