UK Government releases report on available routes for migrants seeking to enter the UK but does not include proposals for any new safe and legal pathways.
During debates on the Illegal Migration Act, the Government committed to releasing a report outlining existing and new safe and legal routes for migrants seeking to enter the UK.
The Home Office report, published today, outlines possible plans for future legal routes to the UK, but does not propose any new pathways.
Best for Britain has long been campaigning against the Government's unworkable anti-immigration legislation in favour of the opening of safe and legal routes for asylum seekers to enter the UK.
Naomi Smith, Chief Executive of Best for Britain said,
“The last Home Secretary was shamefully unable to describe how someone from outside Ukraine or Hong Kong could claim asylum in the UK and over a year later, despite legal requirements, her successor would still struggle.”
