Party scandal now hurting UK's international standing

Prime Minister's Questions today is expected to focus on the Prime Minister's reported attendance at Downing Street parties in violation of Covid restrictions.

Rules at the time banned people from socialising with others, except outdoors and then only with one other person.

Naomi Smith, Chief Executive of internationalist campaign group Best for Britain said,

“This is more important than one man or one party, as we face mounting international threats and challenges, the country needs a leader that commands trust, respect and authority.

“Not only has the Prime Minister lost the trust of his party and the British public, this latest scandal has eroded Britain’s international standing and our ability to stand up to threats from dangerous regimes or coordinate international action on pandemics and climate change.

“For the sake of our nation, he must resign or be removed from office by Conservative MPs.”
