GDP figures: Removing Brexit barriers can pay immediate dividends

UK economy continues recovery from recession with GDP growth of 0.6%

ONS figures, released this morning, confirmed that Britain's economy had grown 0.6% in the three months to June. But despite good news, economists warn that there are still challenges to sustainably boost Britain's long-term growth rate.

Naomi Smith, CEO of Best for Britain said,

“Sclerotic growth was the hallmark of the last Government whose shambolic Brexit deal continues to reduce opportunities for businesses while increasing costs for consumers.

“The economic benefits of much needed investment in skills and infrastructure will take years to materialise, but removing these artificial barriers to growth can pay immediate dividends.”
