Southport stabbings: we must stand up against all who advocate violence and hate

Rioting by the far-right has spread throughout the UK, as those involved seek to use  the Southport stabbings to stir up racial tension.

Far-right protests, many of which including violent unrest, have spread across the country in the wake of the horrific stabbings that took place on Monday in Southport.

The unrest has been attributed to misinformation spread on social media, which included unevidenced claims that the attacker is an undocumented recent arrival from cross-Channel migration and/or a Muslim, that the attack was “anti-white” in its motivation, and that the state and mainstream media is deliberately protecting the identity of the attacker for sinister purposes.

Naomi Smith, CEO of Best for Britain said,

“The far-right is always willing to exploit tragedy to sow the seeds of racial division and hatred, and it appears the horrific attack in Southport is no exception.

“In moments like these, it is more important than ever that we come together as a country, and stand up against all who advocate violence and hate.”
