UK risks falling down economic league table due to Brexit

The UK risks falling from fifth to seventh in the rankings of the world’s largest economies next year, analysts have claimed. Both India and France could overtake Britain in the global table, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The accountancy firm projects real GDP growth of 1.6% for the UK in 2019, compared to 1.7% for France and 7.6% for India. Responding, Best for Britain champion Jo Stevens MP said:

"Seeing the UK sliding down the economic league table shows we are facing a Brexit black hole at the heart of our economy.

"The government are just hyping up the fear to try and force MPs to vote for their bad deal. This news should worry everyone as we see the government pushing a policy that will make the UK poorer."
